DBFIXER Repair Utility CAMEO for Windows Use this utility if you are getting a "Not a table/DBF" error message. You have corrupted data files that may be fixed by the attached DBFIXER.EXE file. The file recovery process is slightly different for CAMEO Windows 1.0 than CAMEO Windows 1.1. >>CAMEO Windows 1.0 1. You will need to determine which files have been corrupted. Run the REINDEXER Utility (click icon in the CAMEO Program group). The REINDEXER will crash on the corrupted data module. Use the table on pages 4 and 5 of Appendix D of your CAMEO manual to identify the file name corresponding to the module named in the REINDEXER's error message. For example, if the REINDEXER halted on the Map Information module, you would use the F72.DBF file. 2. Copy DBFIXER into your \CAMEOWIN\DATA sub-directory. 3. Start the DBFIXER program by double clicking DBFIXER.EXE. Enter name of the corrupted file in DBFIXER. 4. After running DBFIXER, you should restart CAMEO. If more than one file was corrupted, CAMEO will give you an error message indicating the name of the next file to be repaired. Run DBFIXER again, this time entering the name of the second corrupted file. Repeat the process until CAMEO starts normally; then run the Rebuild Indexes utility. >>CAMEO Windows 1.1, 1.2 and 1.2.1 1. Write down the name of the corrupted files. 2.
